Regulation on peer review process

Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of these regulations is to present provisions regarding on the review process of papers submitted to the Journal of Korean Society of Manufacturing Process Engineers.

Article 2 (Selection of the Editorial Board)
Once a paper is submitted, a Board member will be assigned as corresponding editor the member will manage all the tasks related to its review.

Article 3 (Selection of a member of the Judging Committee)
The editor shall review the academic area, compliance with the submission regulations, and quality of the paper for publication and, if necessary, return it to the author or suggest a resubmission. The editor shall select two more reviewers to make a panel of three to review the paper.

Article 4 (Completion of Review)
1. Editor shall make a final decision on a paper as either "accepted" or "accepted after a revision" for publication on the basis of review results from the Judging Committee.
2. If necessary, the editor may add or change the Judging Committee members.
3. The decision made by the Judging Committee shall be accompanied by reasons or explanations that serve as its basis.
4. In principle, a reconsideration request by the author shall not be accepted.
5. Only papers that comply with the Journal's 'Research Ethical Policy' shall be published.

Article 5 (Opinion sharing)
The editor and the Judging Committee members shall use the Society's paper submission system to share opinions with the authors.

Article 6 (Review period)
1. The review period of the paper submitted to the Judging Committee members shall be 15 days in principle, and a request for completion or change may be made if the period elapses.
2. The selection of the Judging Committee members shall be done immediately upon the completed review of the appropriateness and ethicality of the paper.
3. In the case of "reconsideration after revision," the revised paper shall be submitted within two months, and the Board member may cancel its review process otherwise.

Article 7 (Review compensation)
The Judging Committee members can receive monetary compensation for reviewing.

Article 8 (Outstanding paper)
1. A published paper with outstanding academic elements or practicality and applicability shall be selected as an outstanding paper.
2, The selection of outstanding papers shall be decided by the Board.

Article 9 (Confidentiality)
The Board and the Committee members shall maintain the confidentiality of the papers and review process under their responsibility.

Article 10 (Addendum)
Matters not clarified in these regulations shall be determined by the Board.

제1조 (목적)
이 규정은 한국기계가공학회지(이하 학회지)에 게재하고자 투고하는 논문의 심사 및 절차에 관한 사항을 정하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

제2조(담당 편집위원의 선정)
투고 논문이 접수되면 편집위원장은 담당 편집위원 1인을 선정하여 당해 논문의 심사업무를 주관하도록 한다.

제3조(심사위원의 선정)
편집위원은 투고 논문의 학문영역과 논문 투고 규정의 준수 여부, 논문의 질적 수준을 심사하여, 필요한 경우 저자에게 반환 또는 재투고를 권유할 수 있다. 편집위원은 심사위원 2인을 추가하여 3인의 심사진을 구성하여 논문을 심사한다.

제4조(논문게재판정)
① 편집위원이 심사위원의 의견을 참고하여 “채택가” 혹은 "수정후 채택"으로 판정한다.
② 편집위원이 필요한 경우 심사위원을 추가 또는 변경할 수 있다.
③ 심사위원의 판정에는 그 근거가 될 수 있는 이유나 설명이 있어야 한다.
④ 저자에 의한 재심요구는 원칙적으로 수용하지 않는다.
⑤ 논문은 학회지의 연구윤리규정을 준수할 때에만 게재가능하다.

제5조(의견교환)
편집위원과 심사위원은 저자와 의견을 교환이 필요한 경우 반드시 학회의 논문투고시스템을 경유하여야 한다.

제6조(심사기간)
① 심사위원에게 의뢰된 논문의 심사기간은 15일을 원칙으로 하며, 그 기간이 경과하면 독촉 또는 변경 할 수 있다.
② 심사위원 선정은 논문의 적절성과 윤리성 등을 검토한 후 즉시 선정하도록 한다.
③ '수정 후 재심' 경우 논문은 2개월 이내에 수정 본을 제출해야 하며, 그렇지 아니한 경우는 담당 편집위원이 논문을 취소 처리할 수 있다.

제7조(심사료)
심사위원에게는 소정의 심사료를 지불한다.

제8조(우수논문)
① 게재된 논문으로서 학술성 또는 실용성과 응용성이 우수 한 논문을 우수논문으로 선정한다.
② 우수논문의 선정은 편집위원회에서 결정한다.

제9조(비밀유지)
편집위원과 심사위원은 본인이 심사하는 논문 및 심사과정에 대하여 비밀을 유지하여야 한다.

제10조(기타)
본 규정에 명시되지 않은 사항은 편집위원회의 결정에 따른다.

5) 게재 [접수 후 3월 ~ 6 개월 정 도]
(단, 위 절차는 정상적인 심사 절차인 경우로 사정에 따라 기간이 연장될 수 있다.)

논문심사시 유의사항
1. 심사위원에게 심사 위촉된 논문의 심사기간은 15일로 하며 기간이 지나면 심사자에게 독촉을 할 수 있다.
2. 심사위촉 후 1개월이 지나도록 심사결과를 받지 못하면 다른 심사자로 변경할 수 있다.
3. 논문 심사평을 주저자에게 통보하고 2개월이 지나도록 학회에 수정본이 도착하지 않을 경우에는 담당 편집이사는 논문을 취소 처리할 수 있다.
4. 논문심사자는 논문심사규정 제4조에 의하여 최종적으로 채택가, 수정후 채택, 채택불가 중에서 결정하여야 한다.
